BENEFITS OF BEACH TRAINING
PHYSICAL
- More energy expended (1.6x) training on sand with no additional strain on the body.
- Increase speed, explosiveness, stamina, balance, reactions, and agility.
- Strengthen core, quads, hamstrings, foot and ankle muscles
TECHNICAL
- Improve first touch, ball control, shooting and ariel play.
- Increase spatial awareness, tactical awareness and faster decision making.
- Increase overall player comfort with the ball in tight/ difficult situations.
INJURY PREVENTION
- Running on sand is lower impact on players joints than turf or grass and is therefore a great cross training option to minimize overuse injuries.
- Strengthening lower body stabilizer muscles, hamstrings, and core decrease chances for joint related injuries (ankle, knee) and hamstring tearing.
SESSION TYPES
FULL DAY
Check In (30 mins)
All teams will be required to check in at 9:00am at the registration table located just outside the field area. Once player is checked in, they will receive their CBS jersey.
Training Session (1.5 - 2 hrs)
All players will assemble to begin their training sessions with the CBS coaches and members.
Lunch Break (1 hr)
Players will gather in the picnic area where they will be served lunch and water.
Warm Up & Tournament Start (15 mins)
At 12:00pm, all teams will assemble to begin the welcoming ceremony. At this time, the National Anthem will play. Once the National Anthem has completed, teams will have 10 mins (approx.) to warm up before game start.
Tournament Structure (~3.5 hrs)
Tournament schedule will be emailed to coaches prior to day of tournament. Teams will play preliminary round robin style pool play to determine championship game. During the round robin, all teams are guaranteed three games consisting of 25 minutes each. Each game is divided into three 7-minute periods with a 2 minute break in-between each period.
